The German painter and varnish trade has won a “Medallion for Excellence” for well above-average performance through Johann Seifert. With this medal of excellence, he is one of the best painters in Europe. Johann Seifert only had 18 hours to complete the tasks. This included wallpapering, painting, creating and displaying a logo of the exhibition hall in color, mixing colors based on a template and a free technique. Here he decided to imitate rust. Not only was the craftsmanship and accuracy - the dimensional tolerances were a millimeter - but above all the time factor a big challenge. President Karl-August Siepelmeyer congratulated Johann Seifert for his outstanding performance.“Successful performance within a very strong field of participants shows the potential that lies in our junior staff. Johann Seifert has dignified our profession on a European level and is a flagship for our painting and varnishing craft. His success spurs on young people in our companies and promotes dual training in the painting and varnishing trade.”Franz Xaver Neuer, representative of the main sponsor Caparol in Gothenburg, is impressed:“I am proud of Johann Seifert and am looking forward to it that with our support we could contribute to the success. The performance comparison among the best in Europe shows what top performances are possible in the painting and varnishing trade.”Johann Seifert has dignified our profession on a European level and is a flagship for our painting and varnishing craft. Johann Seifert is a member of the German national team of painters and secured the starting place for the EuroSkills in spring 2016 as part of a selection competition at the Color Finishing and Facade trade fair. He was accompanied by all active members of the national painter team. Vice President Roland Brecheis is convinced that the support of the team has contributed to the success: “The team spirit is at the top of the national painter team. Even if only one member could compete at the European Championships - it was trained together and the mental support on site was very important. Because in addition to technical know-how, social skills are also very important, regardless of whether at the competition or on the construction site. “Thanks go to the sponsors, which enabled the national painter team and the successful participation in EuroSkills: the main sponsor Caparol as well as MEGA, boco, Storch, Fritz Henkel Foundation, Mirka, Marburger Tapetenfabrik and Peugeot.
Johann Seifert received a “Medallion for Excellence” for his performance, which was far above average.
Plasterers
The 23-year-old David Reingen from Düsseldorf won the silver medal in Gothenburg. Even before the competition, Reingen had set himself a place on the podium, so he was all the more happy about his success. “I wanted to represent Germany and my craft in Gothenburg with dignity. I succeeded with the silver medal.”In 2013, Reingen became state winner in North Rhine-Westphalia and winner of the 2014 plastering contest.“The success of our national team is a reflection of our qualified training. Quality comes from qualification - this was demonstrated once again by the three-day competitions,”explained Klaus-Dieter Fromm, Head of Delegation for the German Construction Industry, at EuroSkills 2016.
The national team of the German construction industry is also supported by sponsors: Datev, Deutsche Poroton, Schomburg, Schöck Teile, VHV insurance, as well as the construction certification and, in particular, the Schwenk plastering technology.
