A new premium collection impresses in the exhibition room of the saasfee * pavilion in Frankfurt.
The Frankfurt saasfee * pavilion has served as an exhibition space for contemporary art, design and electronic music since 2008. The drive and inspiration to use the 70s building hidden in Frankfurt's green belt for exhibitions and to convert it into an interdisciplinary platform for art can already be derived from the earlier work of the dedicated collective saasfee * (formerly arosa) Moni Friebe and Professor Alexander Oppermann. It has been organizing institutionally detached exhibition projects since the beginning of the 90s with the aim of strengthening the local art scene and offering young aspiring artists the opportunity to present their work.
The owners can rely on the support of Caparol, with whom there is a permanent cooperation. Professor Oppermann: “The saasfee * pavilion is an art project that is designed as a total work of art. All aesthetic and content-related components interact here. Color, which is applied to the walls, serves as a background for the artistic works and room installations that we show and stage in the saasfee * pavilion. The nature and appearance of the color is therefore of great importance for this project - it should be taken up by the architecture and combined with it to form an object. It's about color - not painting. With the heavily pigmented colors from CAPAROL ICONS a color depth and surface quality is achieved, that I've never seen in any other color. It is available in a matt that is so important to us. The color palette also offers a fine selection of colors and nuances. The cooperation is therefore a great asset for the saasfee * pavilion.”
Initially approved for temporary use, the saasfee * pavilion has established itself over the past nine years as one of the most important exhibition spaces for contemporary media art in the Rhine-Main area.
In August, the artist Sonja Yakovleva used “Red Roses Club” in the exhibition space. "The work is a stimulus for self-reflection and invites you to actively deal with social conventions," says the renowned architecture trade magazine "AIT": The installation was staged with the CAPAROL ICONS color tones No. 114 Hysteria and No. 10 Tribute to vinyl.
