Managing Director Peter Jansen, who has also been President of the Association of the German Paint and Printing Ink Industry (VdL) since May 2018, does not want to make a big deal out of the actual anniversary. "I would rather like to toast to 140 years of the future," said Jansen during a press conference, in which he and his team presented the future corporate strategy. “But we don't want to hide our past, which was very successful. We are building on a good basis,”continues Jansen. He has worked in the management of the medium-sized company since 1985. Jansen is known for its fillers. The company also produces many different professional products for painters, including insulating paints, metallic effect and metal protective lacquers, marking paints, office paints and glazes. Peter Jansen emphasizes the quality-oriented approach to manufacturing. You don't use semi-finished products, but develop every recipe from scratch. Sales will continue to rely on two-stage distribution through specialist wholesalers. One of the strategic measures should also start here. Jansen has increased his sales force team. The aim is to guarantee more personal advice and to open up new sales areas. An additional application technician also provides advice. Over the past three years, a lot of energy has been put into further developing the brand together with an agency. Peter Jansen sums up: “On the one hand, brands are the values that we share with each other. For us, that also means going one step further, always thinkingwhat additional benefits can we offer the painter? Bringing this approach into the minds of the employees remains a constant process.”Jansen claims to be a pioneer in the industry together with the painter and wants to develop an open and learning organization for this. He cites products that have been brought to market in the past three years as evidence of the efforts, for example the insulation products that make it possible to isolate and cover with a product. At the moment one is working on a paint additive, which enables the painter to easily convert a coating quality into a spray quality. A Denk Bunt blog is also new. For the upcoming FAF 2019 in Cologne, the company wants to announce further details.
