The Baumit FeuerBlock consists of a specially coated, non-combustible mineral wool 040 and an insulation wedge made of EPS hard foam 035. The mineral wool panel is designed with a wedge that is installed on the top. If the thermal insulation composite system is exposed to fire during the construction phase - in the unplastered state before the reinforcement layer is applied - melted EPS is discharged into the wedge to the rear. This prevents fire from spreading. Like the fire bar, the Baumit FeuerBlock is attached all around at least every second floor, with a maximum distance of 50 centimeters, between the lower edge of the masonry opening and the lower edge of the FeuerBlock. The narrow side of the insulation board is fully glued with the adhesive mortar. Immediately after gluing, the Baumit FeuerBlock is removed with the existing adhesive. The gluing is absolutely necessary so that the fire block can work properly in the event of a fire. The Baumit FeuerBlock is available in standard thicknesses of 10 to 20 centimeters.
