Michael Wendler takes over as Chairman of the Caparol Executive Board on January 1, 2013. He will continue to do his job as Managing Director Sales / Marketing Domestic at the parent company DAW. At the same time, Guido Cruysen will be the new managing director for sales at Caparol. He previously worked as managing director of the subsidiary Alligator within the DAW group of companies.
Elmar Schmidt, CEO of Caparol since October 2009, is reorienting himself professionally and leaving the management. As Chairman of the Caparol Executive Board, he played a key role in shaping the positive development in recent years and made an important contribution to the further development of the company.
Michael Wendler started as chairman of the alsecco management at DAW in January 2010 and had previously worked successfully in the maxit group of companies for 26 years, most recently responsible for all German activities. From 2006 to 2009, the business graduate was a member of the board of the FIXIT group. In early 2012, he was appointed to the DAW management board.
Caparol managing director Guido Cruysen has been active in the paint industry since 1996. He started at Sigma / PPG as Key Account Manager of the Do-It-Yourself division for the HISTOR brand and was then appointed national sales manager. Since 2000 he has been responsible for Germany, Austria and Switzerland as head of the construction paints division (Sigma Coatings). In this function he was responsible for the marketing of decorative wall and facade paints, lacquers and glazes for the professional market of painting. Cruysen will gradually hand over his previous function as overall manager for Alligator, which he has held since 2011, to the new sales manager Rainer Brandhorst and the commercial manager Torsten Winter.
